The family Fazzari was present in Sammarco already in the eighteenth century, but during the nineteenth century it died out. In 1810 we found the registration of death of Vincenzo Fazzari, treasurer of the cathedral, and inhabiting in Sant'Antonio Abate street. From this document we know his father Saverio was doctor and that his mother's name was Irene Perrone. Through the records of death and marriage (no birth was registered in San Marco) we had been able to build the genealogical tree. In the History of the town Gaetano Fazzari is remembered for a considerable gift: the expense for seven marriages of poor young women.
In the acts of the council of the town the surname is often written, either somebody was administrator and also because it was a rich family in that period, and sales or purchases made by its members were token as market rating of some products as corn, oil, silk etc.
Through some documents we knew that the family Fazzari was owner of lands in the countries Cuponi and Troncone, and that Gaetano was suffering from "diatesi", so that he had to abandon the charge of cashier in the Charity Commision. The place where is the family's house was called "Costa di Fazzari".
